PETALING JAYA: Approximately 20 squatter homes have been destroyed by a fire behind a college in Kolombong, Sabah, early Friday morning (Jan 21).
Lintas fire station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi stated the incident which occurred round 4am, noticed 12 firefighters from the Lintas fire station rushed to the scene alongside firefighters from Kota Kinabalu and Penampang.
“The fire has resulted in an estimated 20 squatter structures destroyed.
“There was also a victim who reported difficulty in breathing and has been given early treatment by the Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) team before being sent to the hospital,” she stated in an announcement, reported Sinar Harian.
She added that the scenario was below management by 5am whereas efforts to extinguish the fire fully have been nonetheless being carried out.
