TRIPOLI, July 4 (Xinhua) — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) stated Monday that 633 illegal migrants have been returned to Libya after being rescued off the coast last week.
“In the interval of June 26-July 2, a complete of 633 migrants have been disembarked again on Libyan shores,” IOM stated in an announcement.
A complete of 9,973 illegal migrants have been rescued and returned to Libya to this point in 2022, together with 678 girls and 362 minors, it added.
IOM additionally stated that 166 illegal migrants died and 611 others went lacking in 2022.
