KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg paid a courtesy call on Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at his workplace within the Istana at Orchard Road.
The go to on Thursday (July 7) afternoon was a part of the Premier’s five-day itinerary in Singapore to achieve insights into the administration of its sovereign wealth fund and to promote additional financial cooperation between the island republic and Sarawak.
In a press release issued from Singapore, the Sarawak Premier’s Office mentioned the 2 leaders mentioned topics of mutual curiosity to Sarawak and Singapore in addition to present points affecting the area and the world throughout the half-hour call.
Accompanying Abang Johari on the courtesy call have been Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah, Datum Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Also current was the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar.
Earlier on Thursday, Abang Johari and his delegation paid an identical call on Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong.
This was adopted by a call on Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean.
The delegation later visited Temasek Holdings Private Ltd, the place they have been briefed on the Singapore authorities’s home funding arm.
