PETALING JAYA: Targeted financial assistance and a strengthening of the current health system is needed as the country enters the June 1-14 total lockdown, says the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
It said in a statement on Saturday (May 29) that more resources must be allocated to undertake aggressive sourcing of vaccines portfolio to effectively implement the vaccination and reaching the target of herd immunity sooner.
They proposed a slew of targeted financial assistance measures that are needed to support sectors that have been hit particularly hard, especially those requiring in person interactions or travel.
These included assistance for the self-employed, micro business, as well as service industries such as tourism, restaurants, and retailers.
