KUALA LUMPUR: Following swift motion by the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, all seven Malaysians stranded at the airport after their digital Covid-19 vaccination credentials weren’t recognised by the Philippines authorities, have been allowed to enter the republic.

“Wisma Putra is happy to inform that seven fellow Malaysians who had been stranded at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport have been allowed to enter the Philippines, following swift motion by our Malaysian Embassy in Manila. Kudos staff @myembassymanila,” tweeted Malaysian Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra).

Earlier it was reported the Malaysian embassy was on the floor to help the 13 Malaysians stranded at the airport. However, Wisma Putra has confirmed the variety of Malaysians concerned is seven and never as reported.

They had been refused entry into the republic and instructed that the Malaysian digital vaccine certificates in the MySejahtera app was not an appropriate proof of vaccination.

The affected travellers had associated to the Malaysian media that their passports had been confiscated and had been instructed that they might be deported on Tuesday (Feb 15), they usually had to stay at the airport in the meantime as no lodge services had been supplied.
