JOHOR BARU: Local councils in Johor have been told to allow the manufacturing sector to operate according to the capacity of fully vaccinated workers permitted by the National Security Council (NSC).

State housing and local government committee chairman Ayub Jamil (pic) said according to the standard operating procedures issued by NSC, a premises is allowed to operate at 60% capacity if its vaccination rate reached 40%.

Premises with a 60% vaccination rate are authorised to function at 80% capacity, and up to 100% capacity if 80% of the workers are fully vaccinated.

“There has been misinformation reported in the media that caused public misunderstanding.

“I have never stated that only workers who have been fully vaccinated can work in the manufacturing sector,” he said in a statement here on Monday (Sept 6).

He hoped there would be no more confusion among local councils in the state about allowing the manufacturing sector to operate.

“We hope this green light would help boost the manufacturing economic sector in Johor,” he added.
