Athletics: Ridzuan finishes fourth in men’s 100m T36 final

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Ridzuan Puzi came up short in the defence of his Paralympics men’s 100m T36 title after finishing fourth in the final at the Tokyo National Stadium this morning (Saturday).

Ridzuan had to settle for fourth with 12.15 as Argentina’s Alexis Chavev took the bronze with 12.02.

Australian world record holder James Turner clocked 12.00 to miss out on the gold

The Aussie favourite was beaten to second place by China’s Deng Peicheng, who ran superbly to the gold in 11.68.

Yang Yifei, the silver medallist in Rio de Janeiro five years ago behind Ridzuan, also ended without a medal when he finished in fifth place with 12.18.

Ridzuan ran a faster time of 12.06 in the heats on Friday.
