Avast flags money scams as threat amid Ukraine violence

(Reuters) – Cybersecurity agency Avast Plc on Friday warned of cyber criminals in search of to reap the benefits of the chaos surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to make fast money, terming it a threat.

The London-listed firm additionally mentioned it was halting its companies within the Ukrainian areas of Donetsk and Luhansk, which it described as “newly embargoed territories.”

Avast mentioned it was suspending its companies to present customers and withdrawing their availability to new customers within the two territories.

Ukraine and Russia collectively characterize about 1% of Avast’s whole income.
