WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Groups representing U.S. airways, plane producers and airports urged the White House late on Monday to intervene to delay the use by wi-fi carriers of C-Band spectrum for 5G, which they warn may trigger dramatic disruptions for air journey.
“Time has run out and it’s crucial that the White House intervene immediately to delay the upcoming rollout of C-band 5G indicators,” the groups mentioned in an announcement, issued simply hours earlier than the spectrum is due to come into use.
“Starting Wednesday, the disruptions to our nation’s aviation system are going to be extremely difficult, particularly at a time when the business is at present experiencing COVID-related operational points,” the assertion from the Aerospace Industries Association, International Air Transport Association, Regional Airline Association and others mentioned.
