Bank Negara international reserves down to US$111.4bil


KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara’s international reserves to amounted to US$111.4bil as at May 13, down from US$112.5bil as at April 29.

“The reserves position is sufficient to finance 5.6 months of imports of goods and services, and is 1.1 times of the total short-term external debt,” the central financial institution mentioned in a press release.

Bank Negara mentioned the principle elements of the international reserves have been international forex reserves (US$98.4bil), IMF reserves place (US$1.4bil), particular drawing rights (US$6bil), gold (US$2.4bil), and different reserve property (US$3.2bil).
