SINGAPORE: A complete of 33,700 travellers cleared the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints as of 5pm on Friday (April 1), the primary day of the reopening of the Singapore-Malaysia land border, CNA reported on Saturday (April 2).

Quoting Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the information portal mentioned that 6,100 people entered Singapore and one other 27,600 departed the nation to Malaysia by each land checkpoints as of 5pm.

According to the report, 3,500 travellers arrived by buses; 1,600 in automobiles; and 1,000 on bikes whereas 9,400 travellers departed the republic by buses; 9,700 in automobiles; and eight,500 on bikes.

Both international locations had on March 24 introduced that they’ve agreed to reopen their land borders for totally vaccinated travellers starting April 1 with out the necessity for them to take Covid-19 pre-departure and arrival exams or be quarantined.
