Brazilian president unveils deal to import Russian diesel

“It is settled. In 60 days diesel can begin to arrive in Brazil from Russia,” Bolsonaro instructed journalists from the federal government headquarters in Brasilia.

The president defended the choice to import Russian diesel, saying it’s cheaper than different overseas suppliers chosen by the state oil firm Petrobras.

“Brazil imports nearly 30 % of the diesel consumed within the nation. We should import from those that promote at a greater worth and never settle for the value of those that cost extra,” Bolsonaro stated.
