ISKANDAR PUTERI: Five males have been arrested by police for his or her involvement in a automotive theft syndicate right here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar mentioned that the suspects have been arrested following a police report made by an 80-year-old man whose automotive had been stolen.

“The police report was lodged again in August 2020, informing that his automotive was lacking at about 9.30pm in entrance of his home at Jalan Silat Harimau 7, Bandar Selesa Jaya, Skudai.

“Following the report, on Jan 20 2022, a group of police from Iskandar Puteri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) performed three raids in Nusa Bestari, Mutiara Rini and Taman Ungku Tun Aminah at 7.50pm.

“The group has managed to arrest five males aged between 18 and 61 and confiscate numerous objects,” he mentioned in an announcement right here on Sunday (Jan 23).

He added that 4 of the suspects have prior data involving medicine and prison actions.

“Initial investigations revealed that the group has been lively since June 2020.

“With the arrest, we’ve managed to resolve 10 circumstances of automotive theft in Iskandar Puteri and Johor Baru North,” he mentioned, including that the case is being investigated below Section 379A of the Penal Code for car theft.

Some of the confiscated objects embody three cellphones, two car frames with a stolen file and one bike body, additionally with a stolen file.
