Christian Horner: Red Bull employee fails in appeal against verdict that cleared boss

The lady who complained about Red Bull workforce principal Christian Horner’s behaviour has had her appeal against the investigation that cleared him dismissed.

She first lodged a grievance in December that contained allegations of coercive, abusive behaviour and sexual harassment by Horner, 50.

Red Bull cleared Horner, who has all the time denied the allegations of wrongdoing, in February after an inside investigation performed by an impartial lawyer.

Another impartial lawyer has now concluded the appeal against that determination was not upheld.

In an announcement, Red Bull stated it had “accepted and adopted” the conclusions of the lawyer.

It added: “The firm respects the privateness of all its workers and won’t be making additional public remark of this matter right now.”

The complainant has been suspended by Red Bull since March. BBC Sport has beforehand reported the explanation given to the employee was she had been dishonest.

Red Bull’s assertion on Thursday didn’t deal with her employment standing.

The firm has not given additional particulars of the case, citing confidentiality, for the reason that investigation got here to mild in early February.

The day after the grievance was dismissed, a cache of messages purporting to contain Horner was leaked to just about 150 senior F1 personnel and media.

Horner described the leak as “nameless, speculative messages from an unknown supply” and refused to touch upon its contents.

Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey will depart the team in early 2025 after telling them he wished to go away in the wake of the controversy.

The 2024 F1 season resumes on the Dutch Grand Prix on 23 August after the summer time break, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen main the drivers’ championship as he seeks a fourth straight title.
