KUALA LUMPUR: The police have confirmed that Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali was stopped at a roadblock in Terengganu on the fourth day of Hari Raya.

Terengganu police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Roslee Chik said Khairuddin was stopped at a roadblock in Perasing, Terengganu, on May 16.

“He was with another passenger at the time.

“The matter has been handed over to Bukit Aman CID’s Special Investigation Unit,” he said on Saturday (May 29).

Meanwhile, acting Bukit Aman CID director Deputy Comm Datuk Dev Kumar MM Sree said police have started an inquiry paper on the incident.

“We want to find out what actually happened at the roadblock and whether there was any offence.

“The relevant parties will be called up by the police to have their statements recorded,” he said.

The roadblock incident went viral on social media, with Internet users primarily focused on the fact that he was travelling with a woman, believed to be the former wife of a popular actor.

It is learnt that speculation on the relationship is rife on social media.

In August last year, Khairuddin was fined RM1,000 for failing to undergo quarantine after returning from abroad.
