IPOH: A 54-year-old woman in Teluk Intan was beaten by her daughter when the latter could not shower after the water tank ran out of water.
Hilir Perak OCPD ACP Ahmad Adnan Basri said the 30-year-old unemployed suspect, a degree holder, was arrested Sunday (May 23) at 2am.
He said the suspect, the second of three children, had been staying with her mother since the end of 2014, after being terminated from her job.
“The mother sustained injuries to her cheeks and fingers during the fight that happened at the living room of the house in Taman Intan Mas on Friday (May 22) at about 8.30pm.
“The suspect started shouting at her mother, before pushing her, hitting her head, kicking and scratching her face.
“She then told her mother and younger sister ‘just hope don’t someone dies in her hands (sic)’, he said.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had been always fighting and breaking things in the house.
ACP Ahmad Adnan said the suspect has no criminal record.
“She has been remanded until May 26, and the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said.
