Covid-19: 17 new clusters recorded on Saturday (May 22), mostly involving workplaces and community

PETALING JAYA: A total of 17 new Covid-19 clusters were reported on Saturday (May 22), with seven each involving workplaces and the community, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general said that another two clusters were linked to religious activities and one was linked to a high-risk group.

The workplace clusters are Jalan Cemerlang Empat in Selangor; Jalan Laman Setia Tujuh (Johor); Jalan Pantai Port Dickson (Negri Sembilan); Industri Nibong Tebal (Penang); Sungai Batu and Jalan Bypass Kuantan (Pahang) and Industri Batu Berendam (Melaka).

The community clusters are Taman Kesang Indah (Melaka and Johor); Kepulauan Tumpat and Kampung Bakong Kecil (Kelantan); Redong Satu (Johor); Abaka and Indani (Sabah) as well as Melikai (Sabah and Labuan).

The religious clusters are Lembah Keramat (Kuala Lumpur) and Kampung Gau (Pahang); while the high-risk group cluster is Sungai Jelok (Selangor).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 2,001 clusters have been reported.

There are 535 active clusters, while 1,466 clusters are declared to have ended.
