Of the 21 PPVs, five have started the walk-in initiative on Sept 2 and 3, six are starting on Saturday, while the remaining 10 would start the initiative between Sept 5 and Sept 13.

Vidyananthan also urged the public not to cross state borders to get to the PPVs involved in the walk-in initiative.

“The public is reminded that this initiative is to help vaccinate those aged 18 years old and above who are living in the locations involved.

“As such, the public are not encouraged to cross district borders to get to these locations.

“They could still receive their vaccines through MySejahtera. All existing PPVs in the state are actively carrying out the National Covid-19 Immunisation Program,” he said.

Earlier, the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) had given updates on the latest walk-in initiatives for states, including Johor.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said those in Johor can walk in to be vaccinated at selected PPV in their districts.

Based on the the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) statistics, about 82% of the adult population in Johor have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 51.5% are fully vaccinated as of 11.59pm on Friday (Sept 3).
