KANGAR (Bernama): A total of 238 senior citizens at five care centres around the state have received Covid-19 vaccine injections provided by a mobile vaccination unit.
State Secretary Azman Mohd Yusof said they all received the first dose of the vaccine between May 18 and 21.
“The five care centres involved are Pusat Jagaan Rumah Sejahtera Kaki Bukit, Pusat Jagaan Rumah Sejahtera Baitul Hanan, Rumah Seri Kenangan Kangar, Rumah Sejahtera Batu Bertangkup and Bengkel Murni Batu Bertangkup, ” said Azman, who is also the State Disaster Committee chairman.
Meanwhile, the Perlis Health Department’s Family Health principal assistant director, Dr. Izwana Hamzah said for now, the department had no plans to have any additional mobile unit, as another vaccine administering centre (PPV) would be set up at Dewan Warisan this month, making it the third in the state.
“For the state’s current need, one mobile PPV is sufficient, ” she added.
Dr. Izwana also said that the elderly at the care centres would receive the second dose of the vaccine next week. – Bernama
