PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has fully vaccinated 80% its adult population, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
However, he said that the fight against Covid-19 continues.
“Congratulations! Malaysia has achieved 80% full vaccination of its adult population,” he said on Tuesday (Sept 21).
According to the CovidNow website, 79.6% or 18,646,795 of the country’s adult population had been vaccinated as of noon on Sept 21.
The website also stated that 93.1% of the adult population or 22,097,565 individuals had received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
Malaysia had initially set the target of fully vaccinating 80% of the country’s adult population by October under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Cumulatively, 40,664, 674 doses have been administered to date.
