PETALING JAYA: The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) is studying the use of Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccine for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
NPRA director Dr Roshayati Mohd Sani stated the file was submitted to them final week.
“We are still doing the evaluation. We’ll need to consider it carefully as it concerns lives and public health,” she stated at a press convention on Tuesday (Feb 8).
Currently, solely the Pfizer vaccine is getting used for PICKids, which includes children aged from 5 to 11.
The Health Ministry was reported as saying {that a} complete of 41,393 children had obtained their first dose as of Monday (Feb 7) and an anticipated 3.6 million would get their first dose by the tip of March 2022.
