Covid-19: S’wak only state to report more than 1,000 new cases Monday (Oct 11)

PETALING JAYA: With 1,037 new Covid-19 infections, Sarawak was the only state in Malaysia to report more than 1,000 new cases on Monday (Oct 11), says the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website.

On Monday, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said that 6,709 new Covid-19 cases were reported throughout Malaysia, the lowest daily figure reported since July 5, 2021, when 6,387.

The cumulative number of infections recorded in the country since the pandemic began now stands at 2,346,303.

Based on the Health Ministry’s Github data repository, Selangor recorded a big drop in new infections on Monday, with only 671 new cases, compared to the 1,015 new infections reported on Sunday (Oct 10).

Labuan was the only locality to report no new infections, while Putrajaya and Perlis reported daily figures in the double-digits with 36 and 29 new infections, respectively.
