‘Descendants Of The Sun’ actor Nam Moon-chul dies at 50

South Korean actor Nam Moon-chul died on Oct 4, 2021, at 6.20am.

He was 50 years old.

A Korean news portal reported that his agency confirmed his death.

“The actor passed away at the age of 50 after being diagnosed with colon cancer and battling against the disease,” stated the agency.

“His mortuary is located in Room 10 of the funeral hall of National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. The procession will take place on 6.30am on Oct 6 (Wednesday).

“Management BK will remember his passion for acting. We hope you will express your condolences” it added.

Nam – who started out in theatre – had starred in many K-dramas since 2011.

Among them are The Royal Gambler, Descendants Of The Sun, Argon, Six Flying Dragons, Train, Nokdu Flower and this year’s series, Mad For Each Other.

His career in film began with the 2002’s film Break Out. Since then he’s appeared in almost 40 films including the newer titles like Midnight Runners, Ashfall and Jo Pil-Ho: The Dawning Rage.
