Destini secures RM531.4mil contract from MoT


KUALA LUMPUR: Destini Bhd’s 70%-owned subsidiary M Rail Technics Sdn Bhd (MRail) has secured a RM531.39mil contract from the Transport Ministry.

In an announcement, the built-in engineering options supplier stated the contract is for the Level 4 upkeep, restore and overhaul (MRO) of 35 trainsets operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) for the subsequent 4 and a half years.

MRail is a 70:30 three way partnership firm between Destini and KTMB Technics Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KTMB.

MRail was established with the intention of offering heavy MRO providers for the rail section in Malaysia and doubtlessly the area.

“These collaborations are intended to enable Destini to participate in more rail tenders locally and regionally,” it stated.
