KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof took day off from his busy schedule to pay his last respects to former Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup on Friday.
Fadillah, who was on an official go to to Sabah, arrived on the Fook Lu Siew funeral parlour at Jalan Tuaran at round 5.45pm, and was greeted by Joseph’s eldest son, Datuk Arthur Kurup who’s Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister.
Fadillah was seen giving phrases of consolation to Joseph’s spouse, Puan Sri Melinda Mak Soak Fong and chatted with Sabah politicians Parti Bersatu Sabah’s secretary-general Datuk Julita Majungki and knowledge chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and Datuk Flovia Ng from Sabah STAR.
Earlier, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor additionally paid his last respects to the late Joseph at 9am.
Joseph, who held quite a few ministerial posts within the state and federal ranges throughout his 4 many years in politics, was hospitalised for nearly a month on the National Heart Institute (IJN) earlier than passing away on Wednesday (April 17).
A funeral service shall be held on the parlour at 9am subsequent Tuesday (April 23).
