PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has clocked in as the Transport Minister on Wednesday (Sept 1).
In a Facebook post, Dr Wee said that he started his first day together with deputy minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong at its headquarters in Putrajaya.
Dr Wee was welcomed at the ministry by Transport director-general Datuk Isham Ishak, JPJ director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim and other top ministry heads.
Previously, Dr Wee had said among his top priorities would be ensuring that his ministry continued to benefit the people amid the pandemic while helping to revive the economy.
“I will do my best to ensure the Transport Ministry continues to move forward and benefit the people and the country.
“There is nothing more important at this time but to ensure the Malaysian Family can get out of the Covid-19 pandemic and the country’s economy is restored,” said Dr Wee.
On Monday (Aug 30), Cabinet ministers and deputy ministers were sworn in and took their oaths at office, loyalty and secrecy before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara.
