PETALING JAYA: Supply of goods and necessities for the people in the Ayer Hitam constituency will be further ramped up, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The Transport Minister, who is also Ayer Hitam MP, said he is in the midst of increasing the items to ensure supply is sufficient for the people.

“For this month, another 10,000 bags of 5kg rice, 10,000 bags of 1kg sugar, 10,000kg of flour and 10,000 bottles of cooking oil will be added.

“This is to ensure the supply of items is always enough for the people,” he said after visiting the food item storage at his Ayer Hitam service centre in Johor on Sunday (July 11).

Earlier, Dr Wee said that a total of 30,000 food packages have been distributed to people in the Ayer Hitam constituency since March last year with more than half of the packages sent out in the last three months.

He said the aid is aimed at easing the burden of the people in his constituency during difficult times.

“In the past three months, the Ayer Hitam community service centre has given out 15,535 food aid packages to the people,” he said.

He added that the packages are part of the RM300,000 allocation to all MPs, regardless of political alignment, announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for them to provide help to the people in their constituencies.
