Drone attack on U.S. base foiled, Iraqi security sources say

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Two armed drones had been shot down on Monday as they approached an Iraqi army base internet hosting U.S. forces close to Baghdad’s worldwide airport, Iraqi security sources mentioned, reporting no casualties.

The attack got here as Iran and its allies in Iraq marked the second anniversary of the assassination of high Iranian normal Qassem Soleimani.

Soleimani was killed in a drone strike close to Baghdad airport ordered by then-U.S. president Donald Trump.
