Drugs worth over RM200,000 seized, suspect nabbed in KL raid

KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM200,000 worth of drugs were seized by the police after a raid at a house in Jalan Kuching here.

In a statement today (May 27), Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Adnan Azizon said a 39-year-old man was arrested in the raid on May 24.

“Inspections on the suspect’s vehicle and house led to the discovery of around 5.7kg of suspected methamphetamine.

“Our investigations showed the house had been rented for around eight months and the suspect was paying around RM1,800 in rent monthly. He tested negative for drugs and has no prior records,” he said.

The total value of the seized drugs have been placed at around RM201,960.

RM10,000 in cash was also seized during the raid.

He added with the arrested, the police has managed to cripple a drug distribution syndicate that had been operating within the Klang Valley for the past three months.
