KUANTAN: Essential services in Kuantan will need to register with the Kuantan City Council (MBK) as the entire district is placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO).
Pahang National Security Council director Mohd Zairasyahli Syah Zakaria said the registration had to be submitted for approval by May 27.
The URL that had been issued for this purpose was essential.pahang.gov.my
“Each premises that feel it is essential will have to register through the link and we will see whether they are truly essential.
“Even if these premises have approval from the International Trade and Industry Ministry, we still require them to register as there are cases of non-essential businesses claiming they are essential,” Mohd Zairasyahli said in an interview with PAHANGfm on Sunday (May 23).
He said a QR code would be generated once the registration had been approved, which could be shown to inspectors.
“The objective here is to minimise movement. We do not want that many people outside their homes. When there are many businesses that are open, it tends to attract crowds of people,” he said.
Seven sub-districts in Kuantan would be placed under EMCO from May 24 to June 6.
This meant the EMCO would be imposed on the entire district of Kuantan since the seven sub-districts were under the jurisdiction of the Kuantan District and Land Office.
