KOTA KINABALU: A 15-year-old boy was killed whereas racing bikes with his pals Tawau, say police.
Tawau Police Chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin mentioned the incident happened at KM23 of Jalan Merotai at about 9pm on Wednesday (May 4).
ACP Jasmin mentioned police acquired a tip-off from the general public that 4 youths had been racing bikes in the realm.
He mentioned police realized that there was a collision which brought about the demise of the boy.
“It was later discovered after testing that the deceased sufferer had Covid-19,” he mentioned in a press release on Thursday (May 4).
He mentioned three others sustained gentle accidents and not one of the 4, together with the deceased, had legitimate motorbike licences.
“The three have since been detained below Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” ACP Jasmin mentioned.
