KLANG: Bored with the predictable ending of some movies and television series he has watched, writer and movie director Martin Raj Mohana Chantheran wanted to do something different.
So when he directed his latest television series Manmadha Bullets, he added a twist to make the first-ever Tamil series to be interactive by offering his audience the opportunity to pick the ending of the show.
Manmadha Bullets is currently being aired on Astro Vinmeen HD.
“I wanted the viewers to decide how they wanted the story to end and hence I shot three different endings from which they will choose.
“The ending with the most votes will be aired as the finale of the 22 episode series on May 31, ’’ said Martin, adding viewers can vote for a couple of their choice at the Astro Ulagam website.
The romantic comedy, currently is set in 2037, and kickstarts with an 11-year-old girl Sara praying hard that her bickering parents will not get divorced.
Her earnest prayers to GOD (Global Observation Department) attract the attention of celestial cupid Madhan.
“I decided to steer clear of religion and that is why we have the Global Observation Department here to answer to the little girl’s fervent wish, ’’ said Martin, who also acts in four episodes of the series.
He added it was easy to direct the cast as all of them understood the script well.
“When the cast understands the script, it makes it easier for the director, ’’ said Martin who had approached broadcast media consultant company Kris Media Networks with his idea for Manmadha Bullets.
“I pitched the idea to them and they liked it and produced the series and then they pitched it to Astro and the rest is history, ’’ said Martin, who has also directed a movie which was scheduled to be aired in June this year.
Unfortunately, the current pandemic and closures of cinemas have resulted in Martin looking for a suitable online platform to launch his movie titled Hero Friend – U.
Manmadha Bullets is aired from Monday to Friday on Astro Vinmeen HD and can also be viewed at Astro GO and On Demand.
