Hong Kong star Andy Lau, 60, is good friends with fellow actors Tony Leung, 59, and Chow Yun Fat, 66.

Hence, a few years back, Lau was posed that cliched “who would you save” question when he guested on a Chinese variety show, reports a Singaporean news portal.

He was asked if forced to choose, would he save Leung or Chow first from drowning if they both fell into the water and can’t swim to safety?

Well, apparently the answer the Lau gave was quite extraordinary. Not to mention hilarious.

According to the article, the Infernal Affairs actor said he wouldn’t save either one. Instead he’d throw stones at them.

Lau reportedly added: “I wouldn’t just hit them, I’d hit anyone who tries to save them!”

Oops.

Long-time buddies, Leung and Lau have worked on several TV series together, like the TVB period drama The Duke Of Mount Deer (1984).

They last starred in the Infernal Affairs films in 2002 and 2003. In February 2021, it was announced that the duo is teaming up once again for the film Gold Finger.

Meanwhile, Lau – who calls Chow his idol – was the second lead after Chow in the 1989 film God Of Gamblers. The two also starred in the 2016 movie, From Vegas To Macau 3.
