KUALA TERENGGANU: A fisherman is feared to have drowned after falling into the ocean in Chendering waters right here on Monday (May 16) morning.

In the 5.30am incident, the sufferer T. Razali Wok, 74, from Kampung Raja in Chendering, was believed to have fallen into the ocean whereas returning from a squid-jigging trip with three associates, together with the skipper.

Terengganu Maritime director Maritime Captain Muhammad Suffi Ramli mentioned the disappearance of the sufferer was solely found by his associates at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the Chendering base.

“Upon receiving the report, the Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre (MRSC) activated a search-and-rescue operation utilizing the Perkasa 1234 boat.

“Efforts to find the sufferer are being actively carried out,” he mentioned in a press release Monday.
