Floods: Don’t turn provision of aid, assistance into political issue, says Deputy Family Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: The provision of assist and assistance to the individuals affected by latest large floods shouldn’t be turned into a political difficulty, says Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (pic).

“Volunteerism and offering assistance to these in want are righteous deeds and shouldn’t be turned into a political difficulty.

“As an enormous Malaysian Family with multi-racial, multi-religious individuals with completely different political ideologies, we now have to be open and rejoice our variations.

“No matter what the colors and logos on their shirts signify, what’s essential is the love and compassion they’ve for the victims, which could be very commendable,” the Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister mentioned in an interview on Bernama TV’s Ruang Bicara programme Friday (Dec 31) night time.

She mentioned the commendable deeds weren’t solely evident among the many Muslims, but in addition the non-Muslims, “which proved that we’re in it collectively as one huge household”.

Siti Zailah mentioned the Social Welfare Department had mobilised greater than 3,000 personnel to make sure short-term shelters and the well-being of the victims have been taken care of with an allocation of RM35mil allotted for the aim. – Bernama
