Floods: Number of victims from Pontian climbs to 168


PONTIAN: The quantity of flood victims in Pontian has elevated considerably to 168 victims on Thursday (May 5) morning, in contrast to solely 19 victims the night earlier than.

“The number of victims as of 8am on Thursday has gone up to 168 people from 31 families.

“We have opened two more PPS on late Wednesday (May 4), as the number of victims have increased. There are currently three PPS compared to only one on Wednesday morning.

“The victims are currently seeking shelter at the SK Melayu Raya, SK Sri Bunian and SK Seri Bukit Panjang temporary relief centres,” it stated in a press release right here on Thursday.

SK Sri Bunian PPS is at present housing a complete of 117 victims whereas SK Seri Bukit Panjang and SK Melayu Raya are housing 32 and 19 folks respectively.
