Food deliveryman almost ends up in tiger’s jaws

KUALA TERENGGANU: A meals deliveryman alleged that he was almost attacked by a tiger in Taman Bersekutu, close to Dungun, 69 kilometres from right here, on Wednesday (March 9) evening.

Mohd Shafiq Mamat, 27, stated he was on his approach dwelling to Taman Permint Indah in Dungun after delivering meals in the world when the incident befell at 8.40pm.

“Suddenly, I caught sight of a tiger on the proper facet of my motorbike and it was making an attempt to pounce on me. I instantly revved up the throttle and rode as quick as I may to save lots of myself.

“I recited the Shahadah (the primary pillar of Islam) repeatedly and prayed that no untoward incident would occur.

“I managed to look again on the tiger which was solely about 5 metres from me then. Fortunately, it stopped chasing,” he advised Bernama on Thursday (Marc 10).

Mohd Shafiq, who been working as a meals deliveryman for the previous two years, stated it was essentially the most terrifying expertise he had gone by so far and admitted he was nonetheless traumatised by what occurred.

He estimated that the tiger was larger than his motorbike.

He stated the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) of Taman Bersekutu had lodged a report with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) of Terengganu for additional motion.

Meanwhile, state Perhilitan director Loo Kean Seong stated the employees of the division had gone to the situation to conduct an investigation and perform monitoring actions.

“I hope such incidents will promptly be reported to Perhilitan, not simply shared and viralled on social media, to facilitate investigations,” he added. – Bernama
