(Reuters) – Nottingham Forest will leave 97 seats vacant after they host Liverpool in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final to honour the followers who died on the Hillsborough Stadium in April 1989 when the 2 sides final met within the competitors.

Ninety-four Liverpool supporters had been crushed to dying in an over-crowded and fenced-in enclosure on the stadium in Sheffield earlier than an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Forest.

Three different victims succumbed to their accidents, with the 97th dying final June, 32 years after struggling extreme and irreversible mind harm.

The deserted match was replayed the next month at Old Trafford, with Liverpool advancing and ultimately successful the trophy.
