Football: Super League: Selangor beat Kedah 4-2

PETALING JAYA: Selangor are on a three-game winning streak after beating 10-men Kedah 4-2 in the Super League at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday (Aug 13).

The Red Eagles drew first blood in the 24th minute when striker Kpah Sherman finished off a brilliant one-two with his partner Tchetche Kipre but the game tilted towards the Red Giants when defender Renan Alves was sent off for handling the ball in the penalty box in the 27th minute.

Ifedayo Olusegun obliged by burying from the penalty spot in the 28th minute, and two minutes later, Mohd Danial Mohd Asri scored to give Selangor the lead.

But Kedah refused to bow down as M. Anumanthan Kumar equalised in the 44th minute.

In the second-half, Kedah went defensive but couldn’t hold on for too long as Olusegun got the third goal in the 75th minute and completed his hattrick by scoring in the 92nd minute to gift Selangor three points.

Selangor are now fourth in the Super League with 29 points, while Kedah drop to fifth with 26 points, but they have four games in hand.
