Four missing at sea in Putatan found drowned


KOTA KINABALU: The bodies of all missing four victims including three siblings at Gorongon beach in Putatan near here have been found.

The first victim Norain Amit, 13, was found at 8.30pm Tuesday (June 1), Rafidah Amit, 14, was found at 9.10pm while two others, Dalang Amit, 17, and Korais Amit, 8, were recovered together at 9.30pm.

Penampang district police chief Deputy Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said all bodies of the victims were sent for post-mortem at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here.

He said police have classified the case as death due to misadventure but will continue their probe into the incident.

At about 5pm, the victims with four other friends were suddenly pulled in by strong currents while swimming.

Four of them managed to swim to safety and raised the alert.
