Urging MPs to help her laws, she stated: “For each deaf individual like my dad and mom, who’ve been ignored, misunderstood, and even handled as unintelligent for merely counting on BSL (British Sign Language), this recognition might be a transparent and might be a message that their language is equal and needs to be handled as equal.”
