KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities is monitoring the extension of aid to flood victims in Baling, Kedah to ensure there are no delays, particularly in efforts to revive affected homes, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Prime Minister stated precedence can be given to repairing broken homes or constructing new ones.
“After the floods occurred on Monday (July 4) afternoon, the subsequent morning we introduced the extension of money aid to them (victims) however homes are crucial; want to hurry up work to restore or rebuild affected homes.
“Places of lodging are an important, aside from money aid,” he advised reporters after performing Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan right here Sunday (July 10).
On July 5, Ismail Sabri introduced rapid aid for some 1,490 flood victims to be given via 112 heads of family, comprising RM1,000 in compassionate cost, RM2,500 for primary requirements, RM500 for electrical home equipment, and help for home repairs. – Bernama
