KOTA KINABALU: Two Sabah DAP assemblymen have quit the party, citing their lack of confidence in their party.The resignation of Calvin Chong (Elopura) and Justin Wong (Sri Tanjung) from the DAP leaves the party with 4 assemblymen in Sabah.
Also resigning with them was former senator Adrian Lasimbang.
In an announcement, they expressed their disappointment with their party for dropping its course.
They added that they started their political careers to try for a greater Sabah. They wished for larger autonomy, higher infrastructure and greener areas for Sabah “and more importantly, a more inclusive society that transcends race and religion”.
They mentioned there was no higher time to grasp these aspirations than now, particularly with the proposed amendments to Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution.
