LONDON (Reuters) – Essential gear at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant was unaffected after a fireplace there, with no change in radiation ranges, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mentioned on Friday, citing the nation’s regulatory authorities.

Ukraine had mentioned the plant in its southeast was shelled in a single day, the IAEA added.

“The Ukraine regulatory authority mentioned a fireplace on the web site had not affected ‘important’ gear and plant personnel had been taking mitigatory actions,” it mentioned. “There was no reported change in radiation ranges on the plant, it mentioned.”
