PETALING JAYA: The declaration of a public vacation for all Federal Territories following the victory of its Malaysia Cup workforce will not be obligatory, says Prof Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman.

“It’s thrown our specialist skilled exams, clinics and working theatre schedules all helter-skelter,” mentioned the World Well being Organisation (WHO) Science Council member in a publish on her Twitter account.

Dr Adeeba – who was a Universiti Malaya Professor of Infectious Illnesses and a former dean of its School of Medication – added that the general public vacation was not wanted.

“In my humble opinion, we actually do not want this, particularly at a time when we’ve got a lot catching-up to do because of Covid-19,” she mentioned.

This comes after Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim declared a public vacation for all Federal Territories on Friday (Dec 3) following the KL Metropolis FC win on the Malaysia Cup on Wednesday (Dec 2).

Through the Malaysia Cup remaining along side the one hundredth anniversary of the distinguished competitors, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) misplaced 0-2 to KL Metropolis FC, and didn’t defend the title they gained in 2019.
