KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 579 individuals were issued compound notices, while 38 others were remanded for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) on Friday (May 28).
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said among the top offences were not wearing face masks, not maintaining physical distancing and illegal inter-state/inter-district travels.
“A total of 3,575 compliance operation teams comprising of 15,887 personnnel conducted 69,702 inspections nationwide on Friday,” he said in a statement on Saturday (May 29).
On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 32 undocumented immigrants were detained, while 12 land vehicles were seized.
“The authorities conducted 603 roadblocks nationwide on Friday,” he added.
On another matter, Ismail Sabri said 25,252 public sanitisation operations encompassing 156 zones have been conducted since March 30 last year.
“The operations involved business centres, housing areas, supermarkets and government buildings,” he said.
On mandatory quarantine, Ismail Sabri said 792 individuals arrived in Malaysia on Friday, and all have been placed under quarantine.
“Cumulatively, 213,025 individuals arrived in Malaysia since July 24 last year and placed under mandatory quarantine in 78 hotels and 11 public training institutes, as well as private learning institutes nationwide.
“A total of 8,052 individuals are still undergoing quarantine, 202,774 have been discharged while 2,199 others were sent to hospitals for treatments,” he added.
