TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan requested that the United States strengthen COVID-19 countermeasures at military installations inside Japan, together with restrictions on folks leaving base, the Kyodo information company reported on Thursday.

Kyodo stated the request was made throughout a cellphone name between Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
