JIPS to conduct integrity testing on cops

KUALA LUMPUR: The police will conduct integrity testing to consider the extent of integrity or compliance of its officers and personnel working within the subject particularly involving hot-spot assignments to fight corruption.

Bukit Aman Department of Integrity and Standards Compliance (JIPS) director Comm Datuk Azri Ahmad stated the integrity testing contains remark, monitoring and impersonating which includes law enforcement officials going undercover as a civilian.

He stated among the many hot-spot assignments are the manning of roadblocks, patrol automobiles, bike patrol models and investigating officers.

“The implementation of the integrity testing helps in eliminating alternatives and the possibility for corruption to happen amongst police personnel and officers in addition to rising public confidence in direction of the police. In our effort to eradicate corruption, JIPS can even empower its self-discipline and drug management system (SKDD) which was launched in 1979,” he advised Bernama just lately.
