PETALING JAYA: The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) sent out an alert warning the public to ignore vaccination registration forms being disseminated on WhatsApp and other unofficial channels.

In a tweet, it urged the public not to respond to such messages as their personal information could be misused.

Giving out personal information could put users at risk of scams, which have proliferated during the pandemic.

It reminded the public that they can register for vaccination through the website vaksincovid.gov.my, MySejahtera app and the national Covid-19 Vaccination hotline at 1800-888-828.

The official portal requires users to submit information such as their MyKad number, home address, phone number, email address and health status.

According to JKJAV, more than 16.43 million people have registered for vaccination and 5.2 million have received their first dose.

Families can now start registering children as young as 12 years old for vaccination, up from the previous age limit of 18.

The move to immunise children and teenagers comes after the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children aged 12 and up.
