Liew stated the defeat was badly felt by DAP, as Alan Tee had volunteered to contest in Yong Peng as a substitute of defending the Senai seat, which Tee received in 2018.

“Tee needs to be a task mannequin to all DAP leaders, as he willingly left a secure seat to contest in a harmful seat like Yong Peng,” added Liew.
